Founded in 1973, C.T.I. has spent over half a century specializing in piston ring manufacturing, growing into a leader of Taiwan’s manufacturing sector and entering the new-energy field in 2018, guided by its philosophy of craftsmanship and quality.
C.T.I. is a company with a long history, whose development trajectory bears witness to its growth and success in the manufacturing field.
C.T.I.’s journey began in 1973 with the founding of China Transportation Industry Co., Ltd., dedicated to the manufacture of piston rings. Over time the company kept expanding, and in 1991 it was formally reorganized as C.T.I. Industrial Co., Ltd. and joined the POLI AUTO GROUP.
In 1996, C.T.I. acquired the entire plant machinery, spare parts, technology and molds of Komatsu Transportation Equipment Co., Ltd., further broadening its scope of business. In 1997 the company obtained ISO-9002 quality certification, successfully merged with Kuo Bang Steel, and relocated to the Guantian Industrial Park in Tainan.
In 2000, C.T.I. established Zhejiang Puli Auto Parts Manufacturing Co., Ltd., marking further development in the mainland China market. In 2002 the company passed QS-9000 certification, demonstrating its commitment to quality management.
C.T.I. continued to innovate and grow. In 2005 it obtained steel oil-ring certification; in 2006 it secured the CU automotive oil-ring patent and successfully developed diamond-like-coating (DLC) piston rings.
In 2010 C.T.I. developed multi-alloy piston rings, and in 2011 it won the “Excellent Product Gold Award.” In 2012 it acquired a new six-spindle compound PVD machine, the most advanced equipment in the piston-ring industry. In 2013 the company’s shares were listed on the over-the-counter market, marking a new milestone.
C.T.I. then continued to expand its business. In 2015 it was granted the U.S. patent US9057442B2, “Structure of Piston Ring,” and merged with Bianda Precision Hardware (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in mainland China. In 2017 it invested in Zhejiang Chishang Food Co., Ltd., further widening its business reach. In 2018 it added a New Energy Division and obtained IATF-16949 certification.
